How to park in our car park

How to park in our car park

You will have noticed a new parking system has been installed at Shieldfield Art Works. This is aimed at combating illegal parking – visitors to SAW will always be able to park for free. The system has now been switched on, so here is a guide on how to use our new ‘Scan and Stay’ parking system.

1. Park in SAW’s car park
2. Go into SAW’s building
3. Look for the QR code. This will either be in the room where your group or event is happening, or near the exhibition space entrance.
4. Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera.*
5. Enter your registration number and validation code (located on the QR code poster you just scanned) into the short online form. You need to do this within ten minutes of parking your car.
6. You now have free parking for one day.

* If you’re not confident using a QR code, you can type the parking company’s web address (found on the QR code poster) into your internet browser. If you don’t have a smartphone, you can use someone else’s phone to access the online form. The form doesn’t record personal details – it just needs your number plate information.

Please note:
There is 15 minutes of free parking if you are being dropped off by a taxi or a friend.

Blue badge holders still need to scan the QR code in order to get free parking in a disabled bay.

There’s no app to download, the QR code will take you straight to the correct form.

You need to use the QR code every time you visit SAW for a group, event or exhibition.

If you use our car park at a time when SAW is closed, there will be an option to pay for parking – see the car park signs for how to do this.
